Hello, dear reader. It’s been a minute. I last left you in the wintertime, when I reflected on the need to rest. Almost half a year in, there’s much to catch up on. Let’s begin.
January started off with two girls trips – first, to Miami for a wedding and then onward to Mexico City, where I met up with another set of friends.
There’s something rather magical about female friendships. We are each others confidants and cheerleaders; we push back hair and wipe away tears; and sometimes, we simply sit with each other, listening, knowing that validation, and not problem-solving, is the solution.

In Mexico, I met another powerful female figure: Frida Kahlo. Kahlo, whose life was permeated with personal tragedies, including chronic back pain, miscarriage, and a cheating husband, still managed to rise above her circumstances, and remains one of Mexico’s most influential artists even today.

February was spent quietly indoors; March in observance of Ramadan. April brought one of my favorite kind of girls’ trip: the annual Sisters’ Trip to NYC.
Freezing rain could not dampen our spirits as we enjoyed our yearly rituals- from shopping in SoHo, to visiting new cafes, Reem and I soaked up the spirit of the city with umbrellas in hand.

I’m grateful I was able to travel with some of the finest women in my life this year. There’s something rather beautiful about girl magic – the itineraries are well-planned, the conversations are deep, and the late-night squeals of laughter a delight to enjoy.
May 2025 continue to bring safe, happy travels for all of us.
Stay magical,
izh
