In the fall of 2011, I travelled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Unaware of what lay before me, I was greeted by a steaming, lush city bustling with people, tongues, and foods from the world over. In a short few months, I developed friendships, which remain until today, and an appreciation for the many layers of a novel culture. From its political undertones to its rich history, my study abroad experience shaped and influenced my world view for years to come.
More than ten years later, I find myself again with the opportunity to experience intimately a new culture: that of Spain. Based in Seville, Spain, I will partake in a Spanish immersion program for the next several weeks. I am both excited (for the adventures) and nervous (for the homesickness that will inevitably follow). Through it all, I hope to keep you updated on my happenings – wish me luck!
